Life Rites

Life Rites (or Rites of Passage) have been central to human societies for millennia, where small and large groups have gathered to mark and honour the transition from one life phase to another: birth, coming of age, marriage, death, and any other important event in between.

These ceremonies have traditionally be held by the religious authority of the group, which in Denmark has for several centuries been the Protestant Church. But today, in a world where many no longer relate to the values of the church, or of the religion in which they were brought up, there is a strong need for a new and more individual way of celebrating these important Life Rites. Families are increasingly multicultural and multi-religious, which calls for creating new and inventive rituals in order to honour and respect everyone’s particular beliefs.

At Wisdom Crafts, we believe that Interfaith is a wonderful way of uniting people from many different cultural backgrounds, religions, and spiritual paths. It is possible to honour the individual while acknowledging a higher aspect of life where we all can unite. This is done by designing a specific ceremony for the particular occasion that you wish to honour, including or excluding elements from a multitude of possible rituals and celebrations.

If you are interested in hearing more about these services, we would be happy to have a talk with you about your wishes and desires, so we can together discover if Wisdom Crafts might be the right match for your special event.

These Life Rites are officiated by Sofia Megzari, an Ordained Minister at the Universal Life Church since 2013, Cultural Anthropologist with an in-depth knowledge of world religions and rituals, a shamanic practitioner with more than 15 years experience, and a certified Circle Keeper with a true understanding for creating sacred spaces.
